TAGBILARAN CITY ― Continuous heavy rainfall brought by Tropical Depression Verbena prompted Bohol Gov. Aris Aumentado to suspend face-to-face classes on Tuesday, Nov. 25, as the state weather bureau raised Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 over Bohol.
Aumentado said the suspension covers all levels, both public and private schools — from kindergarten to college.
“Everyone is advised to stay updated with official announcements, stay alert to your surroundings, and continue to pray for everyone’s safety,” he said.
As of 8 p.m., Tropical Depression Verbena emerged over Butuan Bay, with its center spotted near the coastal waters of Jabonga, Agusan del Norte. The system packs maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h, gusts of up to 70 km/h, and a central pressure of 1000 hPa, moving west-northwest at 25 km/h.
Signal No. 1 remains raised over wide areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, including all provinces in the Visayas such as Bohol, Cebu, Negros Island, Leyte, Samar, and surrounding regions.
