ANDA, BOHOL — An Indian national was killed after being stabbed by a drunk man inside the public market of Anda town at around noon on Sunday, October 19, 2025.
The victim was identified as Vikas “Joey” Kumar, 28, a resident of Barangay Katarungan, Ubay, Bohol. The suspect was identified as Edgen Simacio, a resident of Barangay Bacong, Anda.
According to Police Executive Master Sergeant Jonathan Deloso of the Anda Police Station, initial investigation revealed that the victim was collecting payments inside the market when the suspect approached him.
“The suspect reportedly asked the victim if he had money, saying he had a problem because his child was in the hospital,” Deloso said.
He added that the victim, who was wearing a helmet, possibly did not hear or respond to the suspect, which angered him. The suspect then followed the victim and stabbed him multiple times.

Meanwhile, the Anda Tourism Office described the incident as an isolated case.
