TAGBILARAN CITY — Bohol’s inflation rate continued to ease as the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) reported a 1.4 percent inflation rate for September 2025, down from 1.5 percent in August and 1.6 percent in the same month last year. The data indicates that the province’s overall price movement remains generally stable.
The update was announced during the PSA’s monthly press conference held on Friday, October 17, 2025.
PSA–Bohol Chief Statistical Specialist Jessamyn Anne Alcazaren said the slowdown was mainly driven by lower inflation in housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, which dropped to 7.0 percent in September from 10.6 percent in August.
Inflation for information and communication also fell to 0.0 percent from 0.8 percent, while health eased to 1.7 percent from 1.9 percent.
The top contributors to Bohol’s overall inflation were:
Housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels – 7.0%
Furnishings, household equipment, and routine maintenance – 3.7%
Transport – 1.0%
Food inflation in Bohol showed significant improvement, dropping to -2.0 percent in September 2025 from 1.8 percent in the same period last year — signaling a general decline in food prices.
Notable slowdowns were recorded in:
Meat and other parts of slaughtered land animals – 6.9%
Fish and other seafood – 8.3%
Milk, dairy products, and eggs – 7.2%
Fruits and nuts – 3.1%
Sugar, confectionery, and desserts – 3.4%
The Provincial Government of Bohol reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining economic measures that help keep essential goods affordable and maintain price stability across the province.
