MANILA – Bohol Governor Aris Aumentado on Wednesday, September 3, joined fellow governors from across the country at Malacañang Palace to take their oath of office before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as the newly elected National Officers and Executive Board Members of the League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) for 2025–2028.

Aumentado was elected as chairperson for Central Visayas, representing the provinces of Bohol and Cebu in the LPP.

The oath-taking followed the LPP Special General Assembly held on Tuesday, September 2, at the EDSA Shangri-La in Mandaluyong City. During the assembly, provincial leaders discussed strengthening the role of provinces in the planning and implementation of national government projects, in response to the President’s call for accountability, transparency, fairness, and prior consultation.

Recognized under the Local Government Code, the LPP serves as the official organization of provincial governments in the country and acts as the collective voice of governors in their engagements with the national government.
