LOON, BOHOL — A male passenger of Lite Ferry 10 jumped overboard past 5 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025, prompting a rescue operation near the waters off Loon.
According to initial reports, both Lite Ferry 10 and an OceanJet vessel nearby had difficulty maneuvering closer to the man due to safety concerns.
Fortunately, personnel from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Station in Loon immediately responded and were able to pull the passenger out of the water.
The rescued man who was later identified as Emong, 23, is now safe, authorities confirmed.
Investigation is ongoing to determine the circumstances that led him to jump from the vessel.
