Pilar town first to finish SAP fund distribution in Bohol

The town of Pilar in Bohol had completed the distribution of the Social Ameolioration Program (SAP) to low income families in the province.

Assistant Regional Director Shalaine Marie Lucero of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in Central Visayas (DSWD-7) said that the local government unit (LGU) headed by Mayor Necitas T. Cubrado completed the distribution of emergency cash subsidy under SAP to a total of 3,119 family beneficiaries.

LGU-Loboc headed by Mayor Leon Calipusan also finished their distribution.

Pilar and Loboc are included in the list of seven LGUs leading in the entire region to finish the SAP distribution.

Others were towns of Pilar, Tudela and Poro in Cebu province and Villahermoso and Manjuyod in Negros Oriental.

Moreover, three more LGUs in Bohol are also now at 99 percent of their distribution and are expected to finish soonest.

Earlier, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Eduardo Año set the deadline on April 30 for LGU to complete the distribution of the subsidy.

There are around 325,675 low income families in Central Visayas.

The agency had also disbursed almost P2 billion for the said program.
