BIEN UNIDO, BOHOL — Two men were killed while two others were injured after two motorcycles collided along the provincial road in Barangay Mandawa, Bien Unido, around 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 17, 2025.
The fatalities were identified as Anthony Macachor, 21, from Barangay Liberty in Bien Unido, and Wendell Anunciado, 34, from Barangay Cabiguhan in Trinidad, Bohol.
The injured passengers were Analyn Godinez and Dave Avergonzado, both residents of Barangay Cabiguhan, Trinidad.
According to the investigation of Bien Unido Municipal Police Station, Macachor was driving a Skygo motorcycle heading toward Poblacion, Bien Unido. Meanwhile, Anunciado was riding a black Suzuki Smash 115 with Godinez and Avergonzado as backriders, coming from Poblacion, Bien Unido, and bound for Trinidad.
Upon reaching the boundary of Barangays Nueva Estrella and Tuburan, Anunciado reportedly attempted to overtake another motorcycle ahead of him, while Macachor tried to avoid a road crack. This caused the two motorcycles to collide head-on in the middle of the road.
Due to the strong impact, both drivers sustained severe injuries while the backriders only suffered minor wounds.
Rescuers rushed the victims to nearby hospitals. Anunciado was declared dead on arrival at Garcia Memorial Provincial Hospital in Talibon, while Macachor was taken to Don Emilio del Valle Memorial Hospital in Ubay, where he was pronounced dead past 8 p.m. the same day.
