Family seeks help for Guindulman shooting victim

GUINDULMAN, BOHOL – The family of a shooting victim in Guindulman is appealing for assistance as their relative remains confined at the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center in Tagbilaran City awaiting surgery.

The victim, identified as John Carlo Orang, was allegedly shot by a police officer, Marcelo Olaer, according to a public post made by a concerned relative on Friday morning.

Relatives claim Orang’s mother, a single parent working as a household helper to support her child’s education, is struggling to cover medical expenses and has called on Guindulman Mayor Ben Balo and the public for help.

As of posting, the family said Orang has yet to undergo surgery due to limited medical personnel and financial constraints.

The incident has sparked concern among residents, with some calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
