From 3 weeks to 1 month: Bohol motorists given 1-month extension to meet LTO requirements

TAGBILARAN CITY – Motorists in Bohol now have a full month—rather than the earlier announced three weeks—to comply with the requirements of the Land Transportation Office (LTO).

The longer grace period was granted after Governor Aris Aumentado appealed to LTO Region 7 Director Glen Galario for an extension.

“I asked for one month instead of just three weeks, and Director Galario approved it,” Aumentado said.

“I urge my fellow Boholanos to take advantage of this time to fulfill their obligations, ” he added.

The LTO will return in September for full enforcement of traffic regulations, this time without surprise inspections.

Motorists can also claim their license plates at the LTO-Tagbilaran office until October 31, 2025. Galario encouraged vehicle owners to check plate availability via ltotracker.ph or by visiting their nearest LTO branch.

Starting next month, LTO-7 will strictly implement the “No Plate, No Travel” policy, which covers all vehicles—including those using temporary or outdated plates. Violators will face a ₱5,000 fine.
