TAGBILARAN CITY – Another content creator has drawn the ire of city officials after posting a prank video that caused panic among residents and businesses.
Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap issued a stern warning to vlogger Joron Ebalde Talictic, also known online as “Dakdak,” a resident of Montaña, Baclayon, Bohol. The vlogger recently uploaded a video simulating an armed robbery in the city while brandishing what appeared to be a .45 caliber pistol.
The video, which quickly spread on social media, sparked fear and concern among families and business owners in Tagbilaran.
“This is not Tagbilaran,” the mayor emphasized. “We will not allow anyone to tarnish the peace and safety of our city just for likes and views.”
A special police team led by Tagbilaran City Police Chief John Escober tracked down the vlogger, who surrendered early this morning at the city police station. Authorities confirmed that legal action is being prepared against him.
“Our city is safe and peaceful, and we intend to keep it that way,” Mayor Yap said. “Let this serve as a warning—if you want to become famous on social media, do not do it at the expense of public safety.”
Meanwhile, the 16th Sangguniang Panlungsod, headed by Vice Mayor Atty. Adam Jala, is set to pass an Anti-Prank Ordinance. The proposed legislation will penalize individuals who stage misleading or harmful content such as prank calls or prank videos that disrupt public order.
City officials lauded the swift action of the Tagbilaran City Police Station and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order.
