MANILA — Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado joined fellow local leaders at the NEO PLUS (Newly-Elected Officials Performing Leadership for Uplifting Service) Program held July 9–11, 2025, at The Heritage Hotel Manila.
Organized by the DILG and Local Government Academy, the training equips officials with leadership tools to align local governance with national development goals.
“Daghan kaayo ta’g nakat-unan about good governance ug best practices nga puwede nato ma-apply sa Bohol,” Aumentado said, highlighting the value of early stakeholder consultation and evidence-based planning.
Aumentado took part in workshops and strategy sessions alongside other governors, vice governors, and SP members nationwide. The training emphasized executive-legislative collaboration, sustainable development, and transformative leadership.
The governor reaffirmed his commitment to Bohol’s 9-Point Strategic Change Agenda, which includes environmental protection, climate-smart agriculture, tourism, MSME support, infrastructure, and ICT, among others.
DILG Secretary Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr. and LGA Executive Director Thelma Vecina led the program’s launch, calling on officials to pursue people-centered and principled governance.
NEO PLUS is part of a three-year initiative to strengthen the capacities of newly elected and returning officials across the country.
