Aris challenges board members to uphold ‘meaningful and honest public service’

Bohol Governor Erico Aristotle Aumentado challenged the provincial lawmakers for meaningful and honest public service during the 30th inaugural session of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) at the Capitol on Tuesday morning, July 8.

“We all want a province that is “smart, resilient, and inclusive”. We all want to leave a legacy of environmental sustainability, responsible tourism, and
climate-smart agriculture, ” said Aumentado.

” As partners in development, I reaffirm the priorities we have set for my second term,” the governor said, emphasizing the importance of unity and shared commitment in achieving the province’s goals.

Among the priorities she laid out are:

-Increasing productivity through investments and the expansion of economic enterprises;

-Enhancing food production by boosting support for agriculture and aquaculture to ensure food security and self-sufficiency;

-Institutionalizing the rice buy-back program to make it more inclusive and accessible to farmers;

-Supporting the continued growth of the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) industry in Bohol;

-Advancing the Metro Bohol Vision, which aims to promote sustainable urban development in Tagbilaran City and nearby municipalities;

-Encouraging responsible property development aligned with environmental and community standards;

-Elevating Bohol’s identity as a global geopark and regenerative island destination;

-And completing ongoing programs while building on the gains achieved during the governor’s first term.

The governor expressed optimism that the 30th Sangguniang Panlalawigan will rally behind these initiatives to ensure continued progress and shared prosperity for all Boholanos.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan is headed by Vice Governor Nick Besas.

The board members of the 30th Sangguniang Panlalawigan include:

  • 1st District: Lucille Lagunay, Mutya Macuno and Benjie Arcamo
  • 2nd District: Thomas Abapo, Jamie Aumentado Villamor and Eping Estavilla
  • 3rd District: Tita Baja, Greg Jala, Dionisio Joseph Balite and Nathaniel Binlod

The provincial board includes three sectoral representatives: Kein Alphe Garsuta (Philippine Councilor’s League), Romulo Cepedoza (Association of Barangay Captains), and Lawrence Ancla (Sangguniang Kabataan).
