MARIBOJOC, BOHOL — Two fishermen were rescued early morning on Sunday, June 22, after their small fishing motorbancas submerged off the waters of Maribojoc and Loon, Bohol.
Personnel from the Coast Guard Station Western Bohol, led by LTJG Romulo D. Balonga Jr., along with CGSS Loon under ENS Remuel A. Montalban and BRP Malamawi (FPB-2403) commanded by CAPT Rafael A. General Jr., responded to the incident following reports of distressed fishermen at sea.
The victims, identified as Julius Palomares and Jestoni Palomares, were safely retrieved and given immediate medical assistance by TARSIER Ambulance personnel.
The Coast Guard’s quick response was lauded, with BRP Malamawi notably on a maritime security mission for the ongoing “REV RIDE 2025” event at the time.
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring maritime safety and protecting lives at sea.
