Some 227 couples exchanged “I Dos” in the historic “Libreng Kasalan sa Tagbilaran” held at St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral-Shrine on Friday, February 14, 2025.
The wedding was officiated by Bishop Abet Uy. He was also joined by Tagbilaran Mayor Jane Yap, former Mayor Baba Yao, Vice Mayor Adam Jala and some officials who served as sponsors
From the church, the couples proceeded to the Plaza Rizal where the reception was held.
The City Hall offered free bridal gowns with veils, barong tagalog with slacks, hair and makeup services, bridal bouquets, corsages, church decorations, a wedding performer, photo and video coverage, LED walls, sound system, food for family members and witnesses, wine, a wedding cake, and even wedding rings.
Couples also received rice cookers, tokens, and a special gift of rice from Mayor Jane Yap, former Mayor Baba Yap, and Vice Mayor Adam Jala, who will serve as principal sponsors for the event.
Another 39 couple will tie the know on Saturday, Feb. 15, at the City Hall Atrium for non-Catholic couples.
