It’s all systems go for the Tigum Bol-anon Tibuok Kalibutan (TBTK) set on July 22-28.

This year’s TBTK, in celebration of its 25th year, was confirmed by the panel of speakers during the March 22 edition of The Capitol Reports held at the Ceremonial Hall of the Provincial Capitol.

Present during the forum were Dr. Nick Lopez, TBTK founder, Dr. Disi Yap Alba, TBTK chairperson, and Margaux Herrera, special projects committee head.

The provincial government has acknowledged the impact of the TBTK on the local community. As such, there is a need to inform the Boholonos that the TBTK 2024 edition is on course to take this annual celebration to a new level coinciding with this year’s Sandugo sa Bohol and with innovations to usher in new programs and developments.

This big event is a reunion for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and Boholanos residing abroad and outside the province who wish to visit their hometowns.

Through this event, delegates will be able to go home together with their families at a cheaper expense and with other delegates since the organization has made arrangements with business and hotel owners.

Alba said they have created a committee composed of young and active members to bring new ideologies to this triennial event and to promote the newly discovered destinations in the province, showcasing it as the only UNESCO Global Geopark in the Philippines.

Another feature is a Youth Ambassador Program (YAP) dedicated to helping young ones learn more about the history, culture, society, and community.

They can be the face of the new generation of Boholanos outside the province and will be introduced to the Local Youth Legislators of Bohol and the whole Philippines.

The TBTK has partnered with the Center for Culture and Arts Development (CCAD), local designers to orient the youth ambassadors to the local industries in Bohol.

It will also recognize The Outstanding Boholanos Around the World (TOBAW) in search of outstanding Boholanos in different sectors and industries, including politics, commerce, business, medicine, and science, among others.

Youth Ambassadors along with other delegates of the TBTK will be exposed to programs like socio-cultural activities, health and wellness activities, and community service.

The organization has chosen the specific dates so participants can also attend the Sandugo Grand Festival which will be celebrated for three months from June to August.

Meanwhile, TBTK is also creating a program for the benefit of the residents of the province more specifically those who live on the hinterlands called Backyard Tilapia Trapal Farming.

Organizers said they have observed that the majority of those who live on the highland parts of Bohol can only buy stale fish as the supply is still from downtown.

An eye medical surgical mission will also be held in chosen towns for two days in coordination with Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Medical Center that will cater to patients with cataract and pterygium.

Foreign ophthalmologists have volunteered for this Medical Mission as part of the Eye Foundation of Americas project in collaboration with the TBTK.

TBTK also launched a contest through its Facebook page to encourage Boholanos invite fellow Boholanos by posting their picture in Bohol with the caption “#UliSaBohol #TBTK2024 Inviting you for the July 22-28 2024 event”.

Those interested to take part in the TBTK may register online at tbtkregistration.com or contact them through their social media accounts. (PIMO/RJG)
