The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) has so far arrested five individuals for violating the election gun ban as of 21 January.
In its latest update Saturday, Jan. 25, BPPO reported that most of those arrested were from Tagbilaran City, Talibon, Guindulman, Jagna and San Isidro town.
Confiscated firearms and ammunition are currently in police custody and are undergoing further verification.
Police Col. Arnel Banzon, BPPO provincial director, reiterated the importance of strict compliance with the gun ban to ensure a peaceful and secure election.
“The Bohol Police Provincial Office remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining public safety during this critical period. We urge everyone to abide by the gun ban to ensure an orderly election process,” said Banzon in a statement.
