A Boholano businessman was shot dead on Wednesday morning, Oct. 30, 2024 in Barangay West Awang, Calbayog City, Samar.
The victim was identified as Ireneo Claro Socias Jr., 48, and a native of Getafe town in Bohol.
Initial reports from Calbayog City police revealed that Socias was helping the delivery van driver maneuver the vehicle into the main road at past noon when the two unidentified assailants approached and shot him in the chest.
Socias was immediately transported to Calbayog District Hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
The perpetrators fled on board a motorcycle.
The motive behind the killing as well as the identity of the suspects have yet to be established. With reports from Inquirer
