The Bohol Muslim Community Peace Movement (BMC-PeM) Inc. celebrated its 7th anniversary at the Bohol Cultural Center on October 21, 2024.
The celebration revolved around the theme, “Embracing Differences: A Collective Journey Towards Peace and Unity.”
In his message, Governor Aris Aumentado expressed gratitude for BMC-PeM’s efforts in promoting unity.
He further reassured attendees that the Provincial Government of Bohol (PGBh) would continue to support the promotion of interfaith dialogue and cooperation in the province.
“Tungod kay ang inyong Provincial Government, gusto gyud makasandurot, makig-aninang, makig-halubilo ninyo, bisan dili ko Muslim—usa ko ka Kristiyano, pero maningkamot ko nga makabaton pud ta ug mithi ug hiyas sa mga Muslim aron the more magkasinabtanay ta dre sa lalawigan sa Bohol,” said Governor Aumentado.
This year’s BMC-PeM anniversary was one of its grandest, gathering nine member communities: Darussalam Muslim Community, Muslim Village Islamic Community, Ubay Islamic Community, Norol Hidaya Islamic Community, Islamic Center Muslim Community, GASAKA Dawa Center Islamic Community, Tubigon Islamic Community, Alnasrie Islamic Community, and Unitop Islamic Community.
The event featured inspirational messages from elected government officials and contests in food presentation, chorale, and cultural dance.

Claiming the first place in food presentation was the Darussalam Muslim Community, while the Ubay Islamic Community won in both the choral and cultural dance.
Other attendees included Bohol’s 1st District Congressman Edgar M. Chatto, Vice Governor Tita V. Baja, Mr. Onasis Abdulrahim Balt, Regional Director of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) – Visayas, members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan, Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap, and Lt. Col. Cesar Misola, Jr. of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO).
The celebration served as a platform for strengthening partnerships across various sectors of society, emphasizing that peace is a shared responsibility, aligning with the administration’s mission of enriching Bohol’s diverse culture, as outlined in its Strategic Change Agenda. (PIMO/RFP)
