It will be a three-cornered fight for vice governor in Bohol after former board member Gerry Garcia filed his certificate of candidacy on Tuesday, the last day of the candidacy filing period for the 2025 midterm elections.
Bohol vice gubernatorial aspirant Santos Abella said that Nick Besas and Garcia are his “worthy opponents.”
“I welcomed the decision of my worthy opponents- Tagbilaran City Councilor Nick Besas and Gerry Garcia – to serve the Boholanos. We have immense optimism for all that we can accomplish,” said Abella, who is an independent candidate.
Besas is the running-mate of reelectionist Gov. Aris Aumentado, while Garcia is the running-mate of gubernatorial candidate Dan Neri Lim.
The 62-year-old Abella who hails from Barangay Candelaria in Dagohoy town said that he has plans for the province.
“As a farmer, I envision food security: sufficient safe and healthy food for everyone. I also envision for brighter future of our young people, new roads, covered courts, public markets, police stations, and the forthcoming universities, hospital, ports and airport to enhance the quality of life,” he said.
” As I humbly seek your trust, I remain committed to continuing the development we have started, and with your support, we can achieve even more for the future of our Province of Bohol,” he added.
He said the” province that is ready to move forward, ready for the next step in the incredible journey that is Bohol.”
