Bohol’s aid to the typhoon-stricken provinces in Luzon is on its way.
Another 30 boxes filled with clothes, canned goods and other necessities from Bohol arrived in Manila this morning, November 18, 2020 for the victims of Typhoon Ulysess.
The first batch of 30 boxes were sent last Monday.
The relief operation “Kaya Nato Tabang Para sa Luzon Movement” is the initiative by former Miss Bohol Vanessa Cadorna-Aumentado.
With the help of Miss Young Tagbilaran 2005 April Recio, who is employed at Cebu Pacific, the air freight was waived by the airline.
“Nalipay ko especially ang mga Bol-anon minggawas atong pagka-Bol-anon, pagka-generous, pagkatinabangon nga despite sa atong krises karun naghunahuna or nagpatigbabaw gihapon sa pagtabang nato sa mas nagkinahanglan pa. Kitang tanan nag-problema sa COVID naay daghan nawad-an og trabaho, but still, ang ningpatigbabaw kanato ang atoang heart or desire to help other people. ” – Miss Bohol 2001 Vanessa Cadorna-Aumentado
“If there are still donations, we will still be accepting them,” said Aumentado.
She said that when Bohol needed help during the strong earthquake in 2013, people sent help.
“Well, when I saw the news sa TV initial reaction nato naluoy ta. And siyempre I suddenly remember in 2013 kita sab sa Bohol were affected with 7.2 magnitude earthquake.. Dili lalim unya diha sab tay daghan nadawat nga help,” she recalled.
Aumentado added that many Boholanos have supported her initiative into helping other provinces affected by the typhoons.
“Yes, I am happy, so happy nga ingana jud ka aktibo ang atong mga batan-on not only pud mga batan-on. Again pasalamat ko I know all of us are still facing this pandemic, kitang tanan affected,” said Vanessa.
