SM Supermalls, one of the country’s largest conglomerates, will open a branch in Bohol.
Engr. Bien Mateo, SM Supermalls Senior Vice President, said on Wednesday that the new construction of a mall will bring employment opportunities to at least 3,000 Boholanos.
The new mall will be located near Camp Bernido in Barangay Dao in Tagbilaran City
after SM Supermalls’ holding company, the SM Prime Holdings, Inc., had purchased at least 7 hectares in Tagbilaran.
“We are very happy to hear from the governor that we are welcome here in Bohol, investor friendly ang provincial government.. A big factor for us to really expedite for development in Bohol,” said Mateo after his meeting with Gov. Aris Aumentado.
“I am happy we are welcome here in Bohol. We felt Bohol is business- friendly,” he added.
Aumentado said the entry of SM Supermalls in Boholano will help the economy.
“With the construction of this SM, more employment will be created for our residents,” Aumentado said.
SM Supermalls’ holding company, the SM Prime Holdings, Inc. develops, operates, and maintains shopping center spaces for rent, amusement centers, or cinema theaters in the Philippines and China.
