The Bohol Provincial Health Office is ready to implement the ₱1.2 billion funds from the World Bank to drive health and well-being programs for residents of the province.
Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, provincial health officer, announced details about the Health System Resiliency Program (HSRP) during the flag-raising ceremony at the New Provincial Capitol on July 15.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), the HSRP aims to improve access to quality healthcare, strengthen healthcare facilities, and enhance overall healthcare capacity.
It also seeks to enhance health systems by building local leadership, management, and resilience to public health emergencies. In addition, it aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 3 and 16, focusing on good health and well-being and promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, respectively.
Lopez noted that the project, led by Governor Aris Aumentado, is expected to commence in January next year and its implementation phase will run until 2029.
This will be followed by operation and maintenance supported by the DOH and concerned LGUs from 2030 to 2039.
The ₱1.2 billion project will focus on constructing health centers throughout the province, complementing the Aumentado-Balite administration’s strategic agenda for inclusive health and social services for various communities. (PIMO/ALT/NDF)
