Marcos distributes aid in Bohol

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr on Friday, June 28, led the distribution of various government aid to farmers, fishermen, and families in Bohol province affected by the El NiƱo phenomenon during a program at the Pres. Carlos P. Garcia Sports Complex in Tagbilaran City.

Marcos Jr. led the distribution of financial assistance to beneficiaries from Bohol and Cebu provinces.

It was raining hard when the president arrived at the venue at past 11 a.m.

There were at least 7,634 individuals who were farmers and fisherfolk received P10, 000 each through the Presidential Assistance for Farmers, Fisherfolk, and Families (PAFFF).

Other agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) and Department of Agriculture (DA) also distributed various government assistance to affected farmers, fisherfolk, and their families.

During the activity, farm machinery and equipment were also be distributed to the different farmer groups.

The President also handed over P50 million in cash assistance to Bohol acting governor Dionisio Balite and Cebu Giv. Gwen Garcia.

“Titiyakin natin na makakarating sa lahat na benepesaryo ang tulong na ilalaan natin para sa kanila,ā€ Marcos Jr said in his speech.

ā€œWalang maiiwan sa paglalakbay tungo sa maliwanag na bukas,ā€ he continued.

Also present during the event were Social Welfare and Development Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel Jr,  Interior and Local Government Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr, Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo Jr, Bohol representatives Edgar Chatto, Vanessa Aumentado and Alexie Tutor, Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap, Cebu  2nd district Edsel Galeos and mayors.
