Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado has issued Executive Order No. 17, series of 2024 lifting the African Swine Fever (ASF) border checkpoints at Dauis Bridge as of May 3.
The order was issued in line with ASF protocol after no active case was reported ASF in the municipality of Dauis 15 days after the last reported positive case.
The directive identifies Purok 5 of Brgy. Mayacabac and Purok 2 of Brgy. Mariveles as the infected premises.
Meanwhile, Barangay Biking as well as the rest of the puroks in Mayacabac and Mariveles have been reclassified to ASF Quarantine Area-Level 2.
Disease surveillance and random blood sample collection for ASF testing along with information and education campaigns will continue in ASF Quarantine Area-Level 2 areas.
In addition, movement of pigs, of all ages, going outside the municipality of Dauis shall require ASF negative test, livestock inspection certificate, and barangay certification as to its source.
Pigs shall also undergo ASF rapid testing to certify the absence of AS infection before slaughter.
ASF affectation in the three barangays was first reported on April 17.
Since then, the ASF Task Force had implemented containment measures including border control, disease surveillance, barangay assemblies, as well as blood sample collection and testing to prevent the spread of the disease.
