Ubujan’s Mary Love Lopez has been crowned as the new Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2024 in a star-studded coronation on Saturday night, April 20 at Bohol Wisdom School gymnasium.
Mayor Jane Yap crowned the new Mutya sa Tagbilaran and was assisted by Mutya sa Tagbilaran 20203 Flaviona Joaquin and former Mayor Baba Yap.
The crown was designed by Cary Santiago.
Sash was pinned by Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel, while trophy was handed by Vice Mayor Adam Jala.
Gov. Aris Aumentado handed the boquet to Lopez.
Lopez received P60, 000 cash from City Government of Tagbilaran, a roundtrip flight tickets to Thailand and free accomodation for three days from Mayor Jane and Baba Yap, and other prizes from sponsors.
Kimberly Grace Giroud of Barangay Poblacion 3 was chosen as 1st runner-up.
Andrea Jake Maglacion of Barangay Dao
was 2nd runner-up.
Niña Luz Makinano of Barangay Dampas was declared 3rd runner-up, while Danica Joy Mahumot of Barangay Booy was
4th runner-up.
In her message, Mayor Jane Yap emphasized the profound significance of Mutya sa Tagbilaran as a beacon of women empowerment, providing a platform for individuals to showcase their talents and aspirations.
Furthermore, she highlighted the remarkable achievements of one exemplary woman, Miss Vanessa Sarno, the first woman athlete from Tagbilaran and Bohol participating in the Olympics.
Miss Sarno’s upcoming participation in weightlifting at the 2024 Paris Olympics stands as a testament to her dedication and skill.
“We dedicate the Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2024 as our full support to our first female Tagbilaranon and Boholana to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Vanessa Sarno 🏋️♀️, ” Yap said.
To extend support to her Olympic journey, Mayor Yap announced that 100% of the proceeds from Mutya sa Tagbilaran 2024 will be donated to Miss Sarno in her pursuit of the Olympics medal.
The pageant was hosted by Miss World 2013 Megan Young and actor Robi Domingo.
The judges were Miss Universe 2022 R’ Bonney Nola Gabriel, Miss Earth-Air 2023 Ylanna Marie Aduana, Miss International 2013 Bea Rose Santiago, Motovlogger Jet Lee, Data Lake Incorporated Director Michael Bell, Fashion Designer Cary Santiago, Supermodel of the World-Brazil Perola Viana, and Supermodel PH Kai Suzon.
The performers are Crystal Voice of Asia Sheryn Regis, actor Miccoy de Leon, Leyte Dance Theater, Vangaurdians and the pride of Tagbilaran, the Vergara sisters.
