A man who went went missing after spearfishing in Barangay Bool in Tagbilaran City was found dead in the seawaters off Dauis town on Tuesday early morning, March 12.
Authorities identified the victim as John Ryan Daño, 32, a resident of Barangay Dampas in Tagbilaran City.
According to an initial investigation,
Daño went spearfishing with his friends. He dove into the water with his spear gun, but never resurfaced, prompting his friends to seek help from authorities.
The Philippine Coast Guard-Western Bohol
launched a search and rescue operations.
However, at around 3 a. m., Daño remained missing.
At around 6 a.m., Daño’s body was found floating near the Borja Bridge in Dauis by a concerned citizen.
