Bianca Gaviola of Tagbilaran City bested 18 other candidates to earn the right to represent Bohol in 2024 Miss Universe Philippines (MUPH) competition.
Gaviola emerged winner during the coronation night held Jan. 28 at the Bohol Cultural Center.
She sealed the victory after slaying in the question-and-answer round.
“My first command is really to allow them to be vulnerable, to express love, to be compassionate, and to be passionate,” Gaviola replied when asked about the first command if men can be controlled through remote control.
“If we were to celebrate masculinity this way, we could really move forward as a progressive Filipino society,” she added.
Gaviola will wear the Bohol sash in the MUPH national finals which will determine the Philippine representative at Miss Universe 2024 tentatively set in Mexico this November.
She also won Best in Evening Gown, the People’s Choice Award, and Miss Elixir Bohol.
Gaviola was Mutya ng Tagbilaran 2017. She was the 3rd runner-up during the Miss Bohol 2017 competition where she competed with Miss Supranational 2023 first runner-up Pauline Amelinckx and Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados.
Meanwhile, Christina Maria Schott of Panglao was crowned as Miss Philippines Bohol 2024 and will compete for The Miss Philippines national title with the chance to compete in either the Miss Supranational or Miss Charm international pageants.

Schott took home multiple awards including Best in Swimsuit, Best in Production Number, Miss Photogenic, Miss Radiant Skin, and Miss Good Skin.
Christine Escanilla of Carlos P. Garcia, Carla Mae Telmo of Dauis, and Julien Pedros of Loon were declared first, second, and third runners-up, respectively.
Escanilla was Best in Runway and Miss Alpha Premier.
Completing the top 10 finalists were Kiara Rosales (Ubay), Ethel Batoon (Trinidad), Maria Patricia Ayop (Mabini), Stephanie Ann Sumagaysay (Antequera), and Ma. Isabel Pabas (Calape), who won Miss Congeniality.
As part of the efforts to promote the first UNESCO Global Geopark island province, the provincial government was one of the sponsors of the inaugural edition of MUPH-Bohol.
The candidates also paid a courtesy visit to the office of Gov. Erico Aristotle Aumentado last Jan. 15. (PiMO/JSS)
