A netizen from Tagbilaran City drew the ire of some netizens for her alleged Facebook post against lavish church wedding decoration.

In her personal account on Facebook on Thursday, Rosalinda Paredes remarked that she was saddened how the St. Joseph the Worker Cathedral Shrine turned into something different.

“I am saddened by how the Tagbilaran Cathedral has transformed in this photo. I am lost. Simbahan ba ni or theatre or stage or decorated ballroom of a hotel,” she said.

“Call me old-fashioned or “Jurassic,” but I am just not happy with how the The Tagbilaran Cathedral looks in this photo,” she added.

She called on the Church to temper lavish wedding decorations at the Cathedral.

“Suggestion lang. Will the Church take the lead in tempering lavish, ostentatious and outlandish weddings in the Cathedral. Jesus lived among and evangelized with the poor and the lowly. We need to reflect on this very deeply and act accordingly,” Paredes said.

Her post did not sit well with netizens who shared screenshots of her post.

Her post has since gone viral that some netizens said a sequel of the P299 engagement ring.

” Ogow Ms Rosalinda, gusto mo ng poorly at lowly kineso sige palagyan mo ng burak, ipis, putik at mga daga baklang twoah or since sabi mo call you Jurassic hala sige lagyan niyo ng mga dinosaurs diyan ewan ko na talaga God bless na lang po. Tahanan naman ng Diyos iyan hindi mo tahanan dami mo hinanakit saddened saddened ka pa si OA kamo hakhakhak,” comedian and content creator Inah Evans said.

“Miski pa’g simple ra ng decoration sa church, naa gihapon mureklamo. Di nalang ta mag pakasal. Hahahaha,” a netizen said.

“Pati decoration sa simbahan pakasad un ang Church leads, haleerrr, Need jud e call-out ang nagdumala aning Cathedral😁😁😁😁 anung connect ug naa sila ika pa Lavish.Dli nalng jud ta ma ka Appreciate sa outcome sa ga prepared ani..Daghan tag problema uy, atimanun sa nato kaysa kining State of the art decoration…Its a Big Yes for me nga ing ani ka lavish.Dli nalang cguro ta masuya sahhh? ” said another netizen.

Another netizen said,” If the couple’s problem is how to spend their money for their dream wedding, then that’s their problem. 😂 Why fuss over it as long as they handle the church decor responsibly, leave the venue intact, and adequately compensate those involved? Your concern ends there.”

” Hala! Kung ang hingtundan diay maka-afford dili na lang jod sila ka decorate og ing-ani? Unsa may sayop ani?, ” a netizen asked.

While some lambast the woman for her remark, others also came to the defense of Paredes.

“A sacrilegious act done by non believers,” said one netizen.

“Walay reading comprehension ning ubang mga tawo. Basaha og tarung ang gusto ipasabot sa post,” said a netizen.

Catholics At Work said, “Maging masaya tayo sa mga taong nagsusumikap na maging maganda ang kanilang kasal ayon sa kanilang kakayahan lalo na kung ang salaping kanilang ipinambili para sa mga bulaklak ay kanilang pinaghandaan at pinag-ipunan.”

A video of the wedding posted on TikTok showed that there were only few flowers in the pews.

“Sa angle ra jud sa photo to have a lavish look,” a photo expert said.
