5 Boholano centenarians get P100k cash gift

The provincial government of Bohol has awarded cash gifts to five Boholanos for P100, 000 each as incentives for reaching the age of 100 years old.

Governor Aris Aumentado on Thursday, Jan. 18, personally handed the gift incentives to Lamberto Laguitao of Barangay Bil-isan, Dimiao; Martina Gumop-as of Barangay Poblacion in Dimiao town, Valentin Saga of Buenos Aires, Carmen town; Ma. Rosario Mangaron of Barangay Bayongan, San Miguel town; and Gliceria Digamon, Poblacion Sur, Batuan.

The governor said they turned 100 last November.

Aumentado was accompanied by the personnel of the provincial social welfare development.

Aside from cash gift, the centenarians were also given certificates of recognition.

According to the law, centenarians “residing in the country or abroad, are entitled to receive a P 100,000 ‘centenarian gift,’ among other incentives provided by concerned local government units, as well as a Letter of Felicitation from the President.”
