Travel platform Agoda recently released its 2024 New Horizons List in the country and Bohol, Siargao, and Davao emerged as the hottest destinations for both domestic and international travelers this year.
Bohol takes the lead with a 72 percent surge in interest, according to the platform’s year-on-year search data.
Claiming the second spot on the list is Siargao, often hailed as the surfing capital of the Philippines, with a 32 percent rise in searches.
Davao, the country’s third largest city and the gateway to Mindanao, secures the third position with a 23 percent increase in searches.
Completing the New Horizons list are Iloilo and Cagayan de Oro, two destinations that are set to shine brightly on the tourism map and have their moments in 2024.
Agoda noticed a common thread that binds these rising destinations—they offer multiple attractions and activities for travelers, many of which are easily accessible by public transport.
Meanwhile, Panglao Island in Bohol, also receives recognition from Booking.com as one of the trending global destinations for 2024.
