Boljulio Aleria who was attacked by a snake is now recuperating in a hospital.
Aleria, 48, a resident of Calape town was on his way home when he accidentally saw a three-meter long snake locally known as “baksan” while in Barangay Quinapon-an in Antequera town.
Aleria thought the snake would just cross the road but suddenly it bit his hand and arm while the tail wrapped around him.
Aleria fell off the motorcycle when the snake attacked him.
He fought back and choked and bit the snake’s neck while fighting for 10 minutes or more until the snake died.
It is about 3 meters long and has a body like a big beer bottle.
As the news of the incident spread, local residents rushed to Aleria’s aid. They helped free him from the python’s grip and took him to Gov. Celestino Gallares Medical Hospital in Tagbilaran City for treatment.
Aleria asked for help in the area and was immediately taken
Reticulated pythons are not poisonous.
