Gov’t work, classes in Bohol suspended today, Nov. 17

Work in government offices and classes in all levels in Bohol province are suspended on Friday, Nov.17 due to inclement weather, acting Governor Dionisio Victor Balite announced Thursday.

The suspension of government work and classes in view of the continuous rainfall brought about by the northeast monsoon (amihan) and shear line.

The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads.

Balite said government agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services will continue with their operations and render the necessary services on Friday.

Several towns in Bohol suspended classes on Thursday afternoon due to scattered heavy rains as the provibce was placed under heavy yellow rainfall warning.

The weather state bureau Pagasa said
a huge part of the country will continue to experience rains due to the northeast monsoon and the shear line enhanced by low pressure area which will enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Friday.

The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.
