Regie Suganob of PMI Bohol Boxing Stable is now the World Boxing Council (WBO) Global light flyweight title after he defeated Venezuelan boxing star Ronald Chacon on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Bohol Wisdom School gymnasium.
Suganob, who won via a 12-round unanimous decision, fought in the main event of “Kumong Bol-Anon XII”.
Two judges scored it in favor of Suganob 119-108 with one judge in favor of Chacon 120-107.
Suganob, 25, said it was a tough fight.
“Naa siyay kusog. Nafeel nako na ajud siyay power mao wala ko mukumpiyansa,” said Suganob, who ranks 14th in WBO.
He has now a record to 14W-1L, 4KOs.
Chacon, who is currently ranked No. 10 by by WBO, dropped to a 30-3-1 (win-loss-draw) with 22KOs.
” Hice mi mejor esfuerzo. Fue una buena pelea. Tal vez la próxima vez,” said Chacon.
PMI Bohol Boxing Promotions also annoinced “Kumong Bol-anon XIII” on December 28, 2023!
