At least two students in a national school in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, were affected by what was described as possession by an evil spirit on Monday afternoon, Oct. 16, 2023.

The possible spiritual possession affected two female Grade 10 students.

The administration of Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School as directed by the School’s Division Superintendent, Dr. Wildreda D. Bongalos, decided to suspend the respective classes and instructed the Grade 10 students to go home to prevent mass hysteria from happening.

Meanwhile, the affected students were already provided with health assistance by the school nurse, City Disaster Risk Reduction & Management Office (DRRMO), City Health Office, and Tarsier 117, along side the spiritual deliverance of an exorcist priest in the person Fr. Absalon Florenosos with the help of two other members of the Catholic Faith Defenders.

“By the grace of God, everything has been handled accordingly and thankfully every body is safe,” the statement said.

Last week, 14 students of Hinawanan National High School in Loay town were “possessed”, two weeks after more than 200 students were also “possessed” in San Jose National High School in Talibon town.
