Shifting schedules, blended learning being implemented to address classroom shortage

Thousands of pupils and students trooped to public schools on Tuesday, Aug. 29, the official opening of classes.

In Tagbilaran City, Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School (DCPNHS) has to implement shifting of classes in order to resolve room shortage.

It has 6,299 students and still counting.

Junior high has 4,158 students, while there were 2,141 students for Senior high.

The school has to adopt the double shifting scheme for Junior high to accommodate all students for lack of classrooms.

Blended learning is still implemented for Senior high.

The construction of school buildings for Senior high in Barangay Cabawan is ongoing so they could cater to more enrollees.

Hundreds of classrooms in public schools destroyed by Typhoon Odette last Dec. 2021 were still unusable.
