Those intending to run for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections can start filing certificates of candidacy (COCs) today, Aug. 28.
In Tagbilaran City, Councilor Jose Floro Ringca of Barangay Bool filed his candidacy for chairman on the first day of the filing of certificates of candidacy (COCs). He arrived with his slate.
LReporter and incumbent Barangay Bool councilor Willy Maestrado filed his COC for reelection.
Businessman and incumbent Booy barangay councilor Ruperto Jeverola also filed his COC for chairman.
Poblacion 2 Kagawad Ramon Doroy who is running for chairman and his slate filed their COCS.
The Comelec will accept COCs until Sept. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“At 12:01 a.m. of Aug. 28, checkpoints shall be established nationwide by the deputized law enforcement agencies,” the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said in a statement yesterday on the election period and gun ban.
Prohibitions include premature campaigning, organizing strike forces and raising funds through dances, lotteries, cockfights and wagering.
