A health facility complete with medical services is expected to be fully operational in this city.
Mayor Jane Yap said the Yap-Jala administration continues to prioritize the implementation of programs that improve the health and well-being of Tagbilaranons.
The super mega health center and dialysis center is worth P43 million. The P20 million is funded by the city government and P23 million from Senators Sonny Angara and Bong Go.
Yap, who led the groundbreaking of the facility site on Thursday in Barangay Dao, described the super health center as a medium-type polyclinic that is bigger than a rural health center.
The event was graced by Dr. Jaime Bernadas, Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH-7) regional director. Also.present were Vice Mayor Jala, city councilors and barangay officials.
The center will provide all the basic health needs, including specialized health services at the local level such as the outpatient department, laboratory, X-ray, ultrasound, birthing services, diagnostic, pharmacy and emergency services, among others.
Bernadas said the establishment of the health facility would help decongest other health facilities as it will augment other rural health centers in the province.
The DOH-funded project is under the health facility enhancement program while the other components, particularly the maintenance operation and staffing, will be shouldered by the town government.
The services are free since it is under the Universal Health Care Act.
