A five-year-old girl died after she was hit by a passenger bus owned by the Southern Star Bus Transit, Inc. in Bilar town on Thursday afternoon.
Police report said that Samantha Salvacion, a resident of Barangay Botong in Valencia town, was with her aunt Mary Jane Salvacion, 29, when the incident happened. They came from a fiesta celebration in Barangay Camanaga in San Miguel town. When they reached Barangay Poblacion in Bilar town Samantha alighted from the bus first leaving Mary Jane who had a hard time getting out of the bus due to many passengers.
Samantha who saw a relative tried to cross the highway when hit by a passing Southern Star passenger bus driven by Llander Barnido.
Samantha died on the spot due to severe injuries.
Barnido driver was placed under police custody.
