A waterspout locally known as “ipo- ipo” was seen forming in the seawaters off Panglao on Sunday morning, Nov. 27, 2022.
The watersprout formed at around 11:40 a. m.
Picnic goers stopped swimming to take photos and videos of the waterspout.
They described the waterspout as very huge.
The waterspout was captured on video by Dhodz Baratas who shared it on his Facebook account.
The weather phenomenon was also captured by Jay Ryan Bautista while he was on board the airplane.
The waterspout did not reach land and immediately dissipated after two minutes.
According to the National Geographic, a waterspout is a column of rotating, cloud-filled wind. A waterspout descends from a cumulus cloud to an ocean or a lake.
