Tropical Depression Maymay is projected to make landfall in Aurora or Quezon on Wednesday, October 12.
The provincial government of Aurora Quezon have ordered their Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Councils (PDRRMC) to step up its readiness and monitoring in anticipation of tropical depression Maymay’s entry into the province.
The 11 a.m. weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), said Maymay was last located 285 kilometers east of Casiguran, Aurora, carrying with it winds of up to 45 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 55 kph.
The state weather bureau hoisted Tropical Cyclone Wind (TCWS) Signal No. 1 in areas along Maymay’s path, including the towns of General Nakar and Infanta, and the Polillo group of islands in the northern part of Quezon.
Signal No. 1 remains raised in the following areas as of 11 am:
Isabela
Quirino
Nueva Vizcaya
Aurora
Nueva Ecija
extreme northern part of Quezon (General Nakar, Infanta) including Polillo Islands
