Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap ordered the impounding of tricycle after its driver who was not named failed to ferry the passengers to their destination.
This she announced during the Meet the Mayor radio program on Saturday.
“Ni abot sa atong office ang report nga naay abusadong trike driver ang wala mo tunong sa sabot sa destination og nag suko suko. Dile ta mo tolerate ani. Karon naka impound na ang trike and akong e make sure dile nani maka drive ang driver kung ma prove nato ang iyang sala.”
(The report that trike driver did not ferry his passengers to their agreed destination has reached me. We won’t tolerate this and the trike is impounded. If found guilty, the driver cannot anymore drive).
The mayor’s move is an apparent response May John Balistoy posted in his facebook that he was duped by a driver of trike number 2526. He said he told the driver to ferry his wife and one-year old kid to barangay Booy but did not and went to other route.
The mayor said this may be an “isolated case” since there still are honest and industrious trike drivers.
To avert similar situation, the mayor advice for passengers to go “online booking platforms PAZADA & PEDICAB app.”
Another case in point is what Amy Paredes Barafon experience for non-conveyance by tricycle Number 1287.
She said in her fb post that she was refused by the said tricycle even if she was the first one to give sign. But the tricycle driver did not stop for her since it preferred to accommodate the foreigners who are behind her.
“Bintahoso ug pili.an kaayo ang driver sa tricycle nga 1287 bisan ako ang ni para, ang foreigners gyud iyang gusto…gi balibaran tawon siya sa foreigner kai nakita nila nga ga pabor pabor siya…
End up walay ni sakay niya kai ako siya gi ingnan ug — Kuya pili.an ka kayo. Gi tubag ba naman ko pina sing.hag , nasuko.”
