A Boholana policewoman from Barangay Poblacion 1, Tagbilaran City, Bohol, gave honors to the country when she brought home three medals in the World Police and Fire Games 2022 held on July 22 to July 31, 2022 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

Police Staff Sergeant Maria Caress Perez Cenabre – Arnejo, currently assigned at the Bohol Tourist Police Unit (BTPU), Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO), lorded over her international competitors by winning the gold medal in Karate Kumite 30+ Kyu Belt Category, silver medal in the 30+ 10,000 meters run, and bronze medal in Karate Kata Kyu Belt, respectively.

The event that gathered 10,000 competitors from 70 different countries around the world featured 63 different sports disciplines that included CrossFit, athletics, water polo, kite surfing, and the ultimate firefighter.

Arnejo is a proud alumna of the Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School (Bohol National High School) Class of 2005 and Bohol Institute of Technology – International College (BIT-IC).

The empowered Boholana who represented Philippine National Police force who proudly raised her flag in the international arena was already winning medals, prior to her triumph in the Netherlands, driven by her strong belief that presence of mind, perseverance, focus, a great spirit, and a courageous heart are what it takes to be an exemplary athlete and public servant.

Thirty-four year old Arnejo, born on January 12, 1988 to parents Rodulfo Cenabre and Fermina Perez, started her involvement in sports during her school days which she zealously pursued even when she joined the service on July 2, 2012, belonging to Class Roman. She is married to Cyrill Mag-aso Arnejo.

On Monday, Arnejo paid a courtesy visit to Tagbilaran City Mayor Jane Yap who welcomed and congratulated her.

She also paid a courtesy call on Tuesday to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan.
