The news about the newborn baby boy left inside a toilet at Jagna Public Market has sparked outrage and shock in Bohol province.

A video of the incident has gone viral with netizens demanding the authorities to look for the mother.

Many have also discussed the mental health aspect of the mother and questioned the circumstances.

A newborn baby boy was put in an eco-bag and was found inside the toilet at Jagna Public Market on Wednesday afternoon, June 8, 2022.

Jagna police said it was the toilet cleaner identified Analiza Ortega who found the newborn at 5:30 p.m.

Police Staff Sergeant Jonalyn Llemit of Jagna Police Station’s Women and Children Protection Desk said the baby was covered with fresh blood.

Ortega called for help since the baby was still moving which was immediately brought to Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital. However, the baby was declared dead on arrival.

On Thursday morning, the baby was buried at Jagna cemetery.

The culprit is not yet known as police are still investigating the incident.
