Health authorities are monitoring a spike in the number of dengue cases in Bohol province.
The Provincial Health Office (PHO) recorded more than 521 dengue cases from January up to May 15 this year. The figure is the second highest in Central Visayas.
Cebu has 2,498 cases.
However, PHO has no recorded dengue fatality.
Compared to last year of the same period, PHO recorded 95 cases with one death, an increase of 448.4 % increase.
Authorities have reactivated the barangay dengue brigades to search and destroy breeding places of mosquitoes.
