The “ToDo BIG MAC” team in Tagbilaran City, which are candidates of Aksyon Demokratiko that endorsed the bid for the presidency of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has switched its support and is now endorsing the bid of Vice President Leni Robredo.

The team is led by mayoral candidate and Tagbilaran City Vice Mayor Jose Antonio “Toto” Veloso.

“The call is for all Presidential candidates opposing Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to come together and set aside their personal ambitions and choose the strongest candidate if only to prevent the country from slipping back to its dark chapter in history if Marcos is elected. The fact that this call resonates not only to the Presidential candidates but also to all local candidates regardless of party affiliations, all the volunteer groups and supporters, and the silent majority, we believe that it’s high time we switch our support from Mayor Isko to the most winnable candidate— VP Leni Robredo — to save the country and our hard-earned democracy,” the statement said April 22.

The statement was signed by Vice Mayor Jose Antonio” Toto”Veloso, Atty. Agustinus Gonzaga, Atty. Hermelo Butron, Rey Ramon Inting, Greggy Gatal, Rodolfo Madanguit, Danilo Abellana and Jonas Cacho.

“The lack of support from the national headquarters of Mayor Isko made it difficult for us to continue supporting him with less than a month to go before elections. This concern, we believe, is not only peculiar to us; we heard that other candidates in other areas also felt similarly aggrieved,” it added.

They emphasized that they remain as candidates of our respective political parties.

” The success of VP Leni in stirring, inspiring and rallying people as seen in surveys, social media and in huge turnout in almost all her rallies are clear manifestations that she has all it takes to become the best alternative candidate that people wanted her to be,” the statement ended.
