Major thoroughfares in the capital city of Tagbilaran turned pink on Tuesday (Feb. 8) as hundreds joined motorcades in support of the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo and her running mate Sen. Francis Pangilinan.
Tuesday was the first day of the campaign period for national positions.
About 100 cars, plus bikes and motorcycles, with pink Robredo tarpaulins, balloons, ribbons and flaglets joined the caravan at 3 p. m.
Some residents on the side of the road flashed the L sign and chanted “Leni, Leni, Leni” and “Laban, Laban, Laban” as the pink caravan drove by.
Earlier, volunteers conducted many activities dubbed as “Pinksplosion.”
A “noise barrage” was held at 7 a.m. along J. A. Clarin Street. It was followed by the blessing and opening of volunteer center.
Bohol is among the provinces where Robredo got the highest votes for vice president in the 2016 elections. She garnered 273,589 votes, while former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. got 79,729 votes.
