Death toll from Super Typhoon Odette now 103

The death toll from a powerful typhoon that struck Bohol and other parts of Visayas and Mindanao last week is continuing to rise as rescuers reach more devastated areas.

In Bohol, the provincial government reported on Wednesday that 103 people now believed to have been killed.

Data showed that 13 died in Ubay, the hardest-hit. There were 12 died in Talibon, 7 in Bien Unido, 7 in Loon, 6 in San Miguel and 5 in Pres. Carlos P. Garcia.

Some 12 people are missing as well.

The typhoon Odette made landfall on the island on Thursday, with gusts of up to 168 miles per hour, before tearing west across the country.
