The City Government of Davao sent a 106-man rescue team to Bohol province to help in the rescue and clearing operation in devastated Bohol.
The rescue team arrived in Bohol at 9 a. m. Sunday, Dec. 19.
Bohol 2nd district Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado personally welcomed the team.
He said he asked Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte for help.
The team from Davao City also brought with them rescue equipment and medical supplies, as well as food and water.
They will proceed to the hardeat-hit areas like Ubay and other towns.
Ubay and other neighboring towns were greatly devastated by typhoon Odette. There were 50 deaths recorded and at least 13, 000 people were displaced.
The Davao City Central Communication and Emergency Response Center, or the Davao City Central 911 is the first of its kind emergency response system in the Philippines and in Asia, and the third in the world after the United States and Canada. It is the brainchild of no less than the then City Mayor of Davao City and Pres Rodrigo Duterte as part of his peace and order program for the people of Davao City.
