Former Quezon City Mayor and senatorial aspirant Herbert Bautista on Saturday (Nov. 27, 2021) visited Bohol province.
Bautista met Tagbilaran City Mayor Baba Yap and First Lady Jane Yap at Tagbilaran City Hall to “exchange pleasantries.”
After the meeting with Yap, Bautista, accompanied by former youth leader of the
National Youth Commissioner and now KOOP KAMPI Partylist nominee Benjie Oliva, met the the local media at Lantaw Restaurant.
Bautista said he came to Bohol to look, observe, and listen at the Bohol experience and learn from it.
He said all his decisions and plans of action will be determined by a thorough consultation with the people he will serve.
Bautista said Bohol has been sucessful in promoting as an eco-tourism destination and can stay afloat amid the Covid-19 crisis.
He said it would be nice for Bohol to preserve their heritage and cultural sites, boost agriculture and tourism, while considering protecting the environment.
He said septic tanks, water treatment facilities, garbage management and hospitals near the tourist attractions should be considered in tourism and hospitality.
Bautista also met members of cooperatives in Bohol arranged by Oliva.
Before entering politics, Bautista was a popular actor.
He served as councilor, vice mayor, and mayor in Quezon City for 33 years.
During his stint in 2010, Quezon City has 10 billion pesos income.
He has earned Urban Planning Certificate during his short course study in Singapore that he applied in his city.
