A man was killed when the motorcycle he was riding hit an ambulance on an emergency call on Sunday night.

Melvin Gamala, 20, a resident of Valencia town, was pronounced dead at the scene, the Cortes Police Station reported.

Initial investigation revealed that
Gamala was headed towards Tagbilaran City when he suddenly swerved to the opposite lane where he collided head on against the ambulance driven by Franklin Labao.

The ambulance is owned by the municipality of Cortes.

Due to the impact of the collision, Gamala sustained severe head injuries and died.

The ambulance had its lights and sirens on at the time of the collision.
